You can disable the XP logo that appears while XP boots.
In the Run dialogue box type “msconfig” and select “Boot.ini“. Now activate ‘/noguiboot‘ to switch off the XP logo that appears while booting.
This did not increase the boot speed but simply hides the XP logo.

Disable Auto Reboot feature.

Sometimes Windows XP reboots without a warning. We may be playing a game or typing a document or even surfing the internet. We can disable the Auto-Reboot feature in XP so that windows do not reboot without your permission.
Here is how to do that:
First, right-click on My Computer and select Properties>Advanced Tab.
Now click on the Settings button in the Startup and Recovery section. Here in the System failure section uncheck “Automatically Restart” option.

How to Run Aero in XP?

Aero is the new feature of Vista that gives the windows in vista a looking through the glass experience. But it is not possible to run Aero in XP, since it require a good video memory card and even if you have one Aero did not support XP.
But we can use a freeware tool called “Glass 2K” which adds transparency features to XP.It is made for window 2000 but also supports XP.The advantage of using Glass 2K is that it requires only 256 MB of RAM. More over we get the nice transparent feel of Vista. After installing Glass2K you can start it from Start>Programs or simply set it to run at start up.

Glass 2K shortcuts:
1. Control + Shift + 9 : Least transparency
2. Control + Shift + 8 : A little more transparency
3. Control + Shift + 2 : Very high transparency
4. Control + Shift + 1 : Maximum transparency
5. Control + Shift + 0 : No transparency or Solid

Create a bootable XP CD.

Sometimes we need to create a boot CD of our XP installation
either to boot from that CD or to boot from an USB drive. Here
is how to create a bootable version of XP.
1. First we need a tool called Bart PE Builder and it is a
freeware. We are using Barts PE Builder to create a bootable
version of XP. Install the program and when you launch it from
the Start>Programs> Bart PE Builder, you get a screen like this:

Make sure that you have
extracted all the plug-ins inside the Plugins folder of your Barts
PE installation.

2. Select the source path where you have installed Windows
XP. Then you can add the essential programs you need to
include in your “XP boot CD” using the Custom field.

3. Select the output path, which is where we get the output file and
is saved in the *.iso format. Now just click on the build button to
complete the process .You can burn the iso image to a CD and
boot from it.
Note: You might have noticed the Plugins button. It is a very
useful option. So what is the purpose of it? Instead of copying
full setup of a program we can use the “plug-ins” of that program
which are customized for Barts PE Builder. This will help to
reduce the size of our boot CD. You will get list of Plug-ins
made for Barts PE Builder from here.
Note:Make sure that you have
extracted all the plug-ins inside the Plugins folder of your Barts
PE installation.
