Here are some things that you should take care of before taking photos! All the places, objects, persons, that we see in photos are what we have seen before or already know or sometimes have dreamt of. The first thing that should be taken care of is the exposure. Each camera has a particular exposure setting at which it can perform better. Most of the digital cameras have preset exposure modes. But this feature is not useful every time. So it is always recommended to adjust the exposure manually to take great shots. Adjusting the exposure of your camera decides how much technically perfect you are in capturing images. If you are unable to adjust it properly then you can learn it by practice.
When you a basic knowledge about exposure then you can easily learn how to take great shots. Two things that can be considered while taking photographs is the shutter speed and aperture. These two things are very important in determining the exposure and hence the quality of the images. Shutter speed determines the time for which camera’s shutter stays open. So determining the time for which shutter stays open is what actually determines the degree of exposure. If you can efficiently control the shutter speed then you can easily control the exposure. Most cameras possess an automatic shutter mechanism. But sometimes we have to control the shutter speed. For that we can also manually adjust the shutter speed. Automatic shutters are used to take low resolution images. If you want take high quality photographs it is recommended to use mechanical shutters. This enables you to adjust the shutter speed depending on the image you need to capture. Mechanical shutters are best suited to take photographs of moving objects and objects in dim light. But using a mechanical shutter needs a lot of practice because only through practice that we can reduce the “shake effect”, because keeping the hands steady for a long time is needed to take photographs with a camera having a mechanical shutter.
The second thing that you have to consider is the Aperture size. It is the aperture size that determines the amount of light that will fall on the sensors when we take an image. When the size of the aperture increases the brightness of the image also increases. It is a nice thing if we take images in dim light. But we need to adjust the aperture size if we are going to take images in a bright sunny day. One thing that we consider when speaking about brightness is that brightness can both increase as well as decrease the quality of an image.So aperture size should be adjusted accordingly to take images in different light conditions. So if you can adjust both these factors very well then you get the exposure right and when you got the exposure right you automatically get the image also right.

Printing Images made Simple.

The printer may be an inkjet printer or a laser printer. To print photos it is better to use a laser printer than an inkjet printer. Even a laser printer is little bit expensive than inkjet printers the maintenance and printing cost is lower for a laser printer than an inkjet. So it is a nice idea to buy a laser printer than an inkjet printer. Moreover the print quality is the greatest factor. A laser printer can provide high quality prints than an inkjet printer. A laser printed image lasts for a long time than that printed using inkjet.
To print an image the following things should be taken care of.
Resolution: The greatest factor affecting the quality of an image is its resolution. The higher the resolution the better quality the image has. Resolution of an image is the number of dots per inch of that image. To print an image it is recommended that you should always set a high resolution. We know that a printer prints images by spraying the colors as small dots on a sheet of paper. So if the resolution is high the number of dots must be higher, thereby increasing the quality of the image. You can use an image editor like Photoshop to change the resolution of the image. To change the resolution of the image select Image>Image size and then adjust the resolution of the image. The unit should be pixels not cms or mms.Now you have a image with nice resolution.

Cropping an image: Cropping of image is very important before printing an image. Sometimes the image contains irrelevant portions or odd shaped edges. These should be removed before printing an image. You can use Photoshop or Gimp for cropping the images. Cropping helps to remove unwanted parts of an image. Be careful not to crop the image by deleting the relevant parts which may alter the “meaning” of the image.
Print Preview: This is one of the features that we hesitate to use when we want to print an image. An image is not printed exactly the way it is seen on the computer screen. Print Preview gives a preview of how the image looks like when it is printed. So always remember to print preview your images. Then you can easily edit your images to suit your needs. Print Preview also enables us to set the number of copies, whether the image is to be printed as a whole or a portion of a image is to be printed etc.
We can print an image directly from our digital cameras. To print images directly from a digital camera you should know the following things.
First, there is a standard called PictBirdge that enables you to print images directly from a digital camera. To print an image just connect the camera to the printer using a USB cable. Then the device is automatically detected . Now select the images you need to print. So make sure that your printer supports Pictbridge or DPOF (another standard for printing images from digital cameras) .Now many printers support memory cards. So if your printer supports a memory card then you can print images from not just digital cameras but also from mobile phones or any other devices . This is a cool feature which makes printing more easy. Otherwise you need to connect the device to your computer and upload the images to your hard drive, then do some editing and when the images are ready, just turn on the printer and print your images.
