No Script: My favorite add-on with amazing capabilities.
It really makes your browsing fast and secure. Many of
the websites that we visit sometimes have malicious
scripts that possess a security threat. By using No Script
we can prevent these scripts from being executed.Many
of the Spy wares and Trojans are installed when we just
visit a site or click on a link. No Script hence is an
indispensible tool which helps to protect our PC.But
only problem is that sometimes there are some useful
functions in a webpage if not executed may lead to
improper rendering of WebPages. So we need to
configure No Script to determine which sites to allow
scripts to run and which not to.
Grease Monkey: Grease Monkey is a nice tool that helps
you to customize the way WebPages look. It has a function
just opposite to NoScript. It is used to run cetain scripts
when a webpage is loaded. We can set the URL of the
webpage ,so that the script runs every time the particular
URL is loaded. It can be used to set custom styles for
websites or adding “additional functionality” to the
website you visit. You can create your own scripts and
also can download a large number of scripts created by
other Grease Monkey Users from here. Try this add-on
which really makes you hooked to it.
Note: Don’t try to run so many scripts at a time because
this makes loading of webpages slow.
Adblock Plus: It is a great addon that helps you to block
unwanted popup ads and obstructive banners. So when
you visit a website Adblock filter out the ads in the
web page and then displays it. Still if you see some ads
just add the field of that ad to the filter of Adblock. The
next time the page loads you cannot see the ad! Some
ads are links to malicious websites or run a script when
we click on them which may install a virus or a
trojan.Moreover some ads take a long time to
load.Adblock can effectively block ads and popups which
makes your browsing more safe. If you don’t want to
block ads in a particular site add the site to exception
list of Adblock.
